2 Dead, As Truck Evading Revenue Collectors Suffers Break Failure | Daily Report Nigeria

Two people have been confirmed dead, with others sustaining varying injuries following a ghastly road accident.

According to reports, the accident was reported to have happened when a fully loaded truck suffered a break failure, and rammed into several cars while trying to evade revenue collectors.

The incident was reported to have happened at Powerline by Cele Bus Stop, Ita-Oluwo, Ikorodu in Lagos state on Sunday, December 15.

Confirming the incident, the spokesperson of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), Adebayo Taofiq said the truck rammed into several cars while trying to escape.

This led to the death of two people, while two others were rescued and were rushed to the General Hospital, Ikorodu.

‘’Preliminary investigations revealed that the loaded container truck suffered a brake failure while allegedly attempting to evade a revenue collector in pursuit. This mechanical failure triggered a catastrophic chain of events, including collisions with other vehicles and damage to nearby buildings.”he said

Adebayo further stated that two LASMA collaborated with men of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Lagos Fire Service, and personnel from the Nigerian Army’s 174 Battalion in providing swift response to the accident victims.
