Men of the Imo state police command have cracked down on a suspected IPOB/ESN hideout in the state.

Daily Report Nigeria gathers that the operation comes as a necessary precaution against violence and attack during the Easter celebration.

The operation was carried out in early hours of Thursday, April 17 by the police force, and men of the local vigilante.

Confirming the success, the state police command spokesperson, DSP Okoye Henry said three people were arrested, ammunitions, as well as N10.3 million in cash.

The PPRO also identified the arrested suspects as Onyekaba Ikenna Innocent (21), Ugwu Ikenna (31), and Ofor Kasarachi (37), while stating that two other fleeing members are being hunted down.

Acting on credible intelligence, our operatives raided a suspected IPOB/ESN hideout located on Cameron Street, Ubahu, in Okigwe LGA,” Henry said. “Recovered items include one AK-47 rifle, two pump-action guns, eighteen live cartridges, mobile phones, laptops, and ₦10.3 million in cash.”

“Residents are encouraged to remain alert and report any suspicious activity to the nearest police station,” Henry added
