Fifty-eight people including women and children who were kidnapped in Birnin Gwari Local Government Area of Kaduna State have been released by the bandits operating in the area.

It was gathered that victims were released on Thursday, November 14, at about 3 pm through a joint non-kinetic operation carried out by the Kaduna State government and the Office of the National Security Adviser.

The freed victims have since been taken to a medical facility for checkups before a debriefing by the NSA, Nuhu Ribadu and further handover to the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa.

Speaking on their release, Sani Kila, the chief of staff to Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna state who will receive the victims appreciated the president for his support throughout the operation.

Kila also commended the Nigerian Military and its troops for their commitment to securing the release of the victims and ending insurgency across the nation.

He said, “I just want to thank the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Nigeria, President Bola Tinubu, the NSA, all the security agencies, and most importantly, Governor Uba Sani.

“He truly deserves accolades for his tireless efforts in securing the release of the victims. I also want to thank the religious leaders and traditional institutions for their support—security is everyone’s responsibility. Let’s all unite to fight insecurity,” he added.
