63-Year-Old Man Rescued, After Falling Into Well In Lagos | Daily Report Nigeria

  • Operatives of the Lagos state Fire Service have swung into action, as they rescue an elderly man.

  • According to reports, the man was said to have falling into a well while working inside it.

A 63-year-old man has been rescued from the hands of death, after he slipped and fell into a well.

The incident, which was reported to have happened in the Igando area of Lagos state saw the man, a plumber, identified as Akin Kuboye slip and fall from the 120-meter-deep well while carrying out repair work.

Confirming the incident, the Director of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, Margaret Adeseye, said the incident happened on Sunday morning, December 8, around 9:54 am.

The Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service responded to a life-threatening distress call, Sunday 09:54 hours at 20, Muyibi Adebayo Street, off Agric Road, Egan – Igando, Lagos,” she said. 

“On arrival at the scene of the emergency, it was discovered that a 63-year-old man, Akin Kuboye, reportedly got trapped incidentally while working in a 120m deep well at the rear side of a bungalow building consisting of 14 rooms of varying sizes, on a premise covering an area of about 648 square metres

“However, the tenacity of the Ejigbo Rescue Crew of the agency successfully brought the acclaimed plumber alive from the well and handed him over to the Lagos State Ambulance Service team that stabilised him from the effect of inhaled ammonia gas before transporting him to a hospital for further treatment.”
