6th National Council On Niger Delta Holds In Asaba, Delta State.

The President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency, Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR, was represented by the Honourable Minister, Steel Development, Prince Shuaibu Abubakar Audu at the 6th National Council on Niger Delta (6th NCND) on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, in Asaba, Delta State to declare open the Summit with the theme: “Stimulating Strategies for Economic Growth and Development in the Niger Delta Region”.

The 6th NCND, which had in attendance the nine governors of the Niger-Delta Region led by the host Governor of Delta State, His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori; the Executive Governor of Imo State and Chairman, Progressives Governors Forum, Sen. Hope Uzodinma; Honourable Minister of Niger Delta Development, Engr. Abubakar Momoh and other top government functionaries, is geared towards addressing the challenges of the Niger Delta for the Sustainable Development of the people and the region.

Declaring the summit open, President Tinubu assured the people of the Niger Delta of the commitment of his Administration under the Renewed Hope Agenda to transform the infrastructural and economic fortunes of the region as well as address other challenges including Security for its sustainable growth and development.

The President tasked the Council Members and Stakeholders on constructive engagements that will deal with issues of utmost importance to the well-being of the Niger Delta region, its people, and the country in general.
