Akpabio makes first visit to Akwa Ibom governor’s lodge after 10 years

Senator Godswill Akpabio, the Senate President, has visited the Akwa Ibom Governor’s Lodge after a decade-long absence. 

 The Senate President paid a courtesy visit to the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Pastor Umo Eno, at the Government House on Friday.  

The visit was his first to the state Governor’s Lodge after about 10 years since he left office as the state governor.  

Eno shared photos from the visit captioned, “I had the honour of welcoming Senator Godswill Akpabio, the President of the 10th Senate, to Akwa Ibom State.” 

 Akpabio was, on Saturday, honoured by the people of Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District, Akwa Ibom State, at a ceremony held at the Ikot Ekpene Township Stadium.  

Akpabio previously served as the Governor of Akwa Ibom State from 2007 to 2015.

He was also the minister of the Niger Delta during the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari.
