Anambra State Commissioner of Police, Nnaghe Obono Itam has advised Ndị Anambra to be security conscious these Ember months.

The Police Commissioner gave the advice when the Anambra State Commissioner for Information, Sir Paul Nwosu paid him a courtesy visit at Anambra State Police Headquarters, Amawbia.

According to him, “crime thrives where there is a culture of silence. Police is not spirit. Police work with information from the populace because the criminals live among them.

“So, if you see something, it is in your best interest and the interest of people around you to say something. If you can’t call, you can at least send a text and the information will be handled in strict confidence.”

To demostrate the Commands seriousness to work with the information from the public, Commissioner Itam directed the Police Public Relations Officer, Mr Tochukwu Ikenga to release 42 phone numbers that are direct to very senior police officers in the Area Commands and Divisions across the state, including his own to the public.

The phone nos are attached to this story.

Regarding the forthcoming Local Government election in Anambra State, CP Itam advised the candidates and their supporters to shun violence and play the game by the rules.
