Reports say Francisca Ordega was rewarded with the cash and home despite making only one appearance at the tournament after an injury.
At 31, the Al-Ittihad Ladies forward still leads by example; she has won WAFCON five times, collected 26 caps and scored seven international goals.
Governor Alia’s gift shows the state’s pride in a long-serving player.
It also follows a growing pattern: state governments and sponsors now hand out cash and housing to celebrate major national successes, which helps boost grassroots interest in women’s football.
Fans and local media watched closely as Ordega recovered from injury.
Now, supporters await her return to full fitness and hope she will resume club and international duties soon.
