Controversial crossdresser Idris Okuneye, better known as Bobrisky, has refuted allegations that he bribed officials from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

On Tuesday night, popular influencer Martins Vincent Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan, released a voice recording purportedly featuring Bobrisky admitting to bribing EFCC officials with 15 million naira to drop money laundering charges against him.

In the recording, Bobrisky claimed the bribe was intended to help him avoid legal repercussions.

Bobr also mentioned that he had never spent a day in prison despite being convicted and sentenced to six months for naira mutilation in April 2024. He suggested that his godfather arranged for him to serve his sentence in a lodge rather than in jail.

In response to the recording, Bobrisky labeled it as fake, asserting that he did serve his term in prison. In an Instagram post, he stated, “

My attention has been drawn to a fake voice recording circulating on the internet that I paid EFCC 15 million naira and that I was never in prison. I didn’t pay any EFCC money; it is a very big lie. I served my term in full and I came out. Discard any false information.”
