Super Eagles striker Victor Boniface made an instant impression on his Werder Bremen debut, providing an assist in their emphatic 4-0 win over Borussia Monchengladbach in Sunday’s Bundesliga clash.

The Nigerian forward, who joined Bremen this summer from Bayer Leverkusen, came off the bench in the 75th minute for Romano Schmid and quickly stamped his mark.

Just six minutes later, Boniface set up Justin Njinmah, who curled home Bremen’s fourth goal in the 81st minute to seal a comprehensive victory.

Earlier, Samuel Mbangula had been the star of the show, opening the scoring with a thunderous strike in the 10th minute before setting up Jens Stage for Bremen’s second midway through the half.

Schmid converted a penalty in the 74th minute after Mbangula was fouled in the box, putting Bremen firmly in control.

Boniface’s late contribution capped off a dominant performance for Bremen and offered fans a glimpse of what the Nigerian international could bring to their attack this season.
