BREAKING: 9 Clubs Sure Of Elimination

As we approach the final match day of this season’s UEFA Champions League, there have understandably been some challenges for various teams.

Currently, nine clubs have been eliminated and will not have a chance to qualify for the knockout stages of the Champions League regardless of their outcomes next week. These teams include Bologna, Sparta Prague, RB Leipzig, Girona, Red Star Belgrade, Sturm Graz, Salzburg, Slovan Bratislavia, and Young Boys.

Bologna, for instance, has accumulated five points during the league phase, placing them 28th, while Sparta Prague has four points in 29th with a -12 goal difference. Girona, Red Star Belgrade, Sturm Graz, and Salzburg each have three points, indicating the competitive nature of the group stage. In a particularly tough spot, Slovan Bratislavia and Young Boys have yet to secure a win and occupy the bottom two positions.

Looking ahead, Manchester City, Shakhtar Donetsk, and Dinamo Zagreb are also facing potential elimination, which adds to the suspense as we approach the final day.

The concluding matches promise an exhilarating day, with 25 of the 36 teams poised to shape their futures. All 18 games are scheduled to kick off simultaneously at 20:00 GMT on Wednesday, January 29, with 16 matches carrying significant implications.

Teams finishing in the top eight will automatically secure their spots in the last 16, where they will be seeded and ready to take on the winners of the upcoming knockout play-off ties involving teams ranked from ninth to 24th.

Those finishing between ninth and 16th will also be seeded and benefit from playing the second leg at home against teams ranked 17th to 24th. Unfortunately, clubs ranked 25th or lower will be eliminated from the tournament without a chance to enter the Europa League.

The play-off ties are set for mid-February, with the last-16 matches taking place in the first two weeks of March.
