Following Ivory Coast’s expulsion of French troops from its territory, former legislator Shehu Sani responded. Ivory Coast is the latest nation in West Africa to do this, Sani noted in a tweet on his official social media account, X. The French military presence has not made a significant contribution to the battle against terrorism in the region, he said, raising doubts about its efficacy.
Sani advocated for local security forces to assume full responsibility for maintaining peace and order, suggesting that countries should rely more on their own military capabilities rather than depend on foreign troops.
On his X page, Shehu Sani stated,
“Ivory Coast has become the latest country here in West Africa to expel the French troops from their country. The French forces are of no use.Their presence for decades in the region made no difference in the fight against terrorism. Our forces should fight our battles.”
