Following a man’s statement that Igbo people should cease constructing homes in the area, Maryanne Moghalu, the wife of the former Deputy Governor of CBN, responded. The man stated that it is a waste of money in the widely shared video on the internet. “It has no economic value,” he remarked.

He said;

“I’m Igbo. I’m from the Eastern part of the country. There is this thing that we have in the East that we must build big mansions in the village. I also did it too but sometimes I wonder the economic value. Building a mansion in the village is a total waste of money”.

Reacting to the video, Maryanne Moghalu said she’s tired of people teaching others on how to spend their money.

Here is what Maryanne Moghalu wrote on her page;

“I am honestly tired of people lecturing others on how to spend their own money. You haven’t heard of South of France, etc, where wealthy people have holiday homes? And, no, they don’t use it for Airbnb when they are not there. Live and let live! It’s not by force”.
