Ruben Amorim has made an impact ever since he replaced Erik ten Hag as Manchester United boss.
The former Sporting CP boss has introduced a new style and made big decisions but stressed there’s still plenty of work to do.
Bournemouth faces the Red Devils on Sunday in the Premier League, and their coach, Andoni Iraola, has noticed differences between Amorim and Erik ten Hag’s teams.
Amorim vs Erik ten Hag differences
Amorim was hired in November after Erik ten Hag was dismissed following a poor start to the season.
He has helped the team improve, but many feel he needs time to build a team that can compete.
Amorim’s win over Manchester City last weekend was encouraging, but defeats to Nottingham Forest highlighted the need for patience.
Iraola on Amorim’s Man United
Iraola’s Bournemouth registered a historic 3-0 against Erik ten Hag’s Man United 3-0 at Old Trafford last season, per BBC. The Spaniard says the Red Devils are better under Amorim.
“I think they are different,” said Iraola via The Mirror. “I think they play in a different way, different system, different approach to the games. I think they keep the games more in their control. They’ve raised the possession they have on the ball and they have really good patterns.”
“If we allow them to dictate the game and to be the team taking the decisions on the ball, it’s going to be very difficult because I think they are playing very well.”
The Cherries are eighth in the Premier League with 25 points, three more than 13th-placed Man United.
Amorim responds to Rashford
Legit earlier reported that Amroim responded to Rashford’s statements, which suggested he wanted to quit Manchester United.
The Portuguese coach emphasised the importance of the England star to his team.
