The Director General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brigadier General Yushau Ahmed, has announced that corps members will begin receiving a monthly allowance of ₦77,000 starting in February 2025.

Speaking to the 2024 Batch ‘C’ Stream II corps members in Katsina on Thursday, Ahmed confirmed that the new allowance has been included in the 2025 Federal Government budget.

“This month (January) has already ended, but once the budget is passed, by next month (February), you will start receiving ₦77,000 instead of the usual ₦33,000,” he stated.

The NYSC DG urged corps members to show appreciation for the government’s gesture by serving diligently. He also reassured them of their safety, emphasizing that no corps member would be posted to areas facing security threats.

“We will not send our corps members to places with security challenges. Wherever we deploy them, they should be assured that the area is safe for them to serve,” he added.
