BREAKING: EFCC Postpones Media Chat With Chairman, Ola Olukoyede

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has announced the postponement of a scheduled media chat with its Executive Chairman, Ola Olukoyede.

The engagement, initially planned for 7:30 pm today, January 19, 2025, was expected to be broadcast across major television networks.

However, in a statement issued through the commission’s official X (formerly Twitter) account, the Head of Media and Publicity, Dele Oyewale, confirmed the change in plans.

“The EFCC Executive Chairman, Ola Olukoyede’s chat with the media earlier, scheduled for 7.30pm today, January 19, 2025, across major TV networks, has been postponed. A new date will be announced,” the post read.

Although no reason was provided for the postponement, the EFCC assured the public that a new date for the media chat would be communicated in due course.

In other news, a 26-year-old nursing student, Esther Onyinyechi Uzodinma, from Noida International University in Uttar Pradesh, India, has been apprehended by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) at the Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport (MAKIA), Kano.

Naija News reports that Esther attempted to smuggle 76 wraps of cocaine by ingesting them before boarding her return flight to India.

In a statement to Naija News on Sunday, NDLEA spokesperson, Femi Babafemi, disclosed that scheduled to fly to Delhi, India, on Qatar Airways flight 1432 on Friday, January 17, 2025, Esther was arrested at 11:30 PM on Thursday, January 16, at the Royal Park Hotel in Sabon Gari, Kano.
