Kaduna North lawmaker, Bello El-Rufai, has said that investigating the administration of his father, Nasir El-Rufai, is not a bad idea—so long as it is done with genuine intent.
Speaking on BBC Hausa’s Mahangar Zamani, Bello addressed the ongoing political rift between his father and Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, expressing disappointment but stating he has no role in reconciling them.
“It’s unsettling. I wouldn’t love to see my enemies fighting, let alone people I respect,” he said.
He dismissed claims of deep-seated grudges between the two, attributing their fallout to life’s unpredictability.
Regarding Governor Sani’s probe into El-Rufai’s tenure, Bello stated, “Investigations are fine, but they should not be driven by personal vendettas. If done out of malice, Allah will judge.”
When asked if he would step in to mediate, Bello maintained his focus on his legislative duties, stating, “It’s not my job to intervene. My responsibility is to serve the people of Kaduna North.”
