The Enugu State Government has issued a final demolition notice to property owners and occupants along the 44.1km Nike Lake Road dualisation Project (Penoks Nowas Ugwogo Opi Nsukka dualisation, Abakpa Nike Opi Nsukka Junction) and the 21.5km dualisation of the Enugu Airport Road Flyover Bridge at Eke Obinagu Owo Junction Amechi Idodo Ebonyi Border, effective within 24 hours.
A statement from Ngozi Ngene, Public Relations Officer of the Enugu State Ministry of Works & Infrastructure, confirmed that the demolition exercise will commence on Saturday, 1st February 2025.
The affected structures along the 44.1km Nike Lake Road will include those marked in the area of the Penoks Nowas Ugwogo Opi Nsukka dualisation and Abakpa Nike Opi Nsukka Junction.
Additionally, marked structures along the 21.5km dualisation of the Enugu Airport Road Flyover Bridge at Eke Obinagu Owo Junction Amechi Idodo Ebonyi Border will also be affected within the same timeframe.
She urged all property owners and occupants to promptly remove their belongings and vacate the premises to prevent damage and minimise the risk of loss of life.
