The immediate past Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly, Prince Mathew Kolawole, has condemned the killing of two farmers by gunmen, expressing deep sadness over the recent deaths in Odo-Ape, Kabba-Bunu Local Government Area, suspected to be the result of attacks by armed bandits.
In a statement, the former Speaker extended his heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased, prayed for the repose of their souls, and comfort for their families.
“I am deeply saddened by this senseless loss of lives,” the statement read. “My thoughts and prayers are with the families of the victims.
I condemn these attacks in the strongest possible terms and call for swift action to bring the perpetrators to justice.”
The former Speaker also commended the State government for the steps it has taken to address the escalating insecurity and urged citizens to remain calm and cooperate with authorities.
“I understand the fear and frustration felt by our people, but I call for calm and restraint as the government works tirelessly to tackle this menace and restore peace and security,” the statement read.
