2 days ago 2

The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), Christopher Musa, announced that the federal government has submitted the majority of the necessary requirements for Simon Ekpa’s extradition to Nigeria.

Musa made this statement during his appearance on Channels Television’s 2024 year-end review programme.

Although the Defence Chief hesitated to elaborate further, he expressed optimism that the Finnish government would take the appropriate steps to expedite the process.

He stated, “Legal action will be pursued regarding this matter. I prefer not to say much, but I am pleased he has been arrested. The Federal Government has forwarded most of the requirements to the Finnish Government, so I am confident the right course of action will be taken moving forward.”

Meanwhile, a district court in Päijät-Häme subsequently sentenced the Finland-based Ekpa to prison for “spreading terrorist propaganda on social media.”
