BREAKING: Gridlock On Lagos-Ibadan Expressway As Multiple Accidents On Kara Bridge Claim One Life

4 days ago 2

Motorists plying the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway were left stranded on Wednesday morning following multiple accidents on the Kara Bridge that resulted in severe traffic congestion and loss of life.

The incidents, which occurred outward Lagos, involved a series of collisions between container-laden trucks and other vehicles. In total, eight vehicles were involved in the crashes.

The first accident, which took place at midnight, claimed the life of a bus driver and left four others injured.

Confirming the incident, Lagos Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Kehinde Hamzat, stated, “The bus driver died instantly, and the park association took his corpse.”

The second accident happened almost immediately after the first, involving several other vehicles. While no fatalities were reported in the second crash, the chaos caused by the accidents significantly disrupted traffic flow.

FRSC officials and police personnel were on-site, working tirelessly to remove the wreckage and restore normalcy. However, as of the time of filing this report, traffic remained at a standstill, stretching as far back as the 7-Up area in Lagos.

Frustrated motorists lamented the prolonged delay caused by the accidents. Many complained about the lack of alternative routes and called for more proactive measures to prevent such incidents in the future.
