Former Nigerian Senate member Lee Maeba has offered his thoughts on the political struggle going on in Rivers State.The crisis in Rivers State which followed the feud existing between the state’s governor, Siminalayi Fubara, and the minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike.

Things took a different turn as Nyesom Wike criticized a former governor, Peter Odili, for supporting Governor Fubara amidst the struggle ongoing between them.

However, during an interview with Arise News, Lee Maeba, a prominent member of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), emphasized that Nyesom Wike is way below Peter Odili’s category in terms of political significance given his exposure and experience.

He recounted how the FCT minister, Wike served as a personal assistant to John Mbata, a Nigerian politician while at the same time, Peter Odili formed the People’s Democratic Party PDP.

According to the video, “Let me just take you back down memory lane. In 1998, I was among the politicians that joined Odili to form the PDP. He sent for me, and I joined him. Wike wasn’t there; at that time, he wasn’t at that level, so he couldn’t participate in anything we were doing. He was a PA to John Mbata, who later became a senator from the process.”.
