BREAKING: New U.S. President Trump Signs Order Targeting Transgender Individuals

U.S. President Donald Trump signed an order on Monday declaring that only two biological sexes exist: male and female.

Mr Trump signed the order from the White House just hours after his inauguration.

“My administration will defend women’s rights and uphold freedom of conscience through clear and accurate language and policies that recognise women as biologically female and men as biologically male,” the new president asserted in the order.

He further stated, “It is the policy of the United States to acknowledge only two sexes – male and female. These sexes are immutable and rooted in fundamental and incontrovertible reality.”

The order mandates that official government documents, including passports and visas, must reflect male and female as the sole recognised sexes.

“The erasure of sex in language and policy has a corrosive effect not only on women but on the integrity of the entire American system,” the order continued, addressing what it termed “gender ideology extremism.”

U.S. presidents can implement political priorities through executive orders without needing the approval of Congress. However, such orders can be challenged in court more readily than legislation.

During his election campaign, Mr Trump pledged to take political action against the rights of transgender people in the United States.

He referred to “transgender lunacy” and “child sexual mutilation” and consistently made disparaging remarks about those affected.

The participation of trans women in sports became a prominent topic during the election campaign for the Republicans.

Transgender individuals are those who feel a disconnect between their gender identity and the sex they were assigned at birth.

Mr Trump’s statements reflect a broader societal debate in the U.S., where conservative factions increasingly advocate for measures that limit the rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT+) individuals.

Tech billionaire Elon Musk, one of Mr Trump’s closest allies, has also voiced criticism of medical treatments for trans youth. His child, Vivian Jenna Wilson, who has lived openly as a trans woman since 2020, has publicly condemned him for his stance.
