Corporal Juliet Chukwu of the Nigeria Police Force has made a significant mark on the international stage by winning the Bantamweight Championship title at the Extreme Fighting Championship held in Johannesburg, South Africa.

The event featured some of the finest fighters globally, and Juliet Chukwu distinguished herself with an impressive display of skill, discipline, and determination throughout the competition.

In a statement released on Saturday, Muyiwa Adejobi, the Force Spokesperson, said that the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, extended his heartfelt congratulations to Chukwu, emphasizing that her achievement reflects the Nigeria Police Force’s commitment to excellence not only in the realm of policing but also in sports.

“This victory extends beyond Corporal Juliet Chukwu; it is a proud moment for the entire Nigeria Police Force and our country. It demonstrates the capability of our officers to excel in diverse fields,” the IGP remarked.

Adejobi highlighted the IGP’s proactive approach to promoting sports within the Force, particularly focusing on Mixed Martial Arts (MMA).

The spokesperson said, “Under his leadership, we’ve officially recognized MMA as a sport for the Force, established the Nigeria Police MMA Association, and successfully organized the inaugural IGP MMA Open National Championship. We are excited to see the sport debut at the 14th Biennial Police Games in Oluyole, Oyo State, next year.”

The IGP reiterated the commitment of the Nigeria Police Force to support its athletes and provide opportunities for officers to excel in various areas.

“The NPF is dedicated to championing the growth of Corporal Juliet Chukwu and other police athletes on their paths to success. The Force aims to achieve even more accolades in a variety of disciplines,” Adejobi stated.
