Olubunmi Fabode, the eldest daughter of Pastor Tunde Bakare of the Citadel Global Community, has revealed that her parents almost divorced due to challenges stemming from generational curses.
She noted, however, that her prayers played a crucial role in preventing their divorce.
Naija News reports that Fabode shared this testimony over the weekend during the celebration of her parents’ 40th wedding anniversary in Lagos.
Fabode further expressed that her affection for her siblings inspired her to intercede for the stability of her parent’s marriage.
She said: “When I was seven years old, my father came to the room and told me ‘Your mother and I are going our separate ways. I am telling you this so you can decide who you want to live with’.
“I did not care so much about my mum and dad not living together, but I thought if they were separated, my siblings may choose either of our parents.
“And I knew that could not work because I absolutely love my siblings. They are the joy of my life. I knew that something had to happen to interrupt that plan was about to hatch.
“She was raised by a British foster parent, then her grandmother, and was eventually raised by her father and stepmother.
“Their marriage was not just a union, it was a battleground. A place where generational curses were confronted and wrestled to the ground.”
