BREAKING: Plateau Governor Orders Free Transportation for Indigenes

Indigenes of Plateau Stat, who would love to travel in or out of the state for the Christmas and New Year Celebration have been offered free transportation.

The free transport service was offered to the indigenes of the state by the governor, Caleb Mutfwang on Monday, December 23.

According to Davou Gyang, the Plateau State’s commissioner for transport, the services will begin on December 23, with the aim of cushioning the effect of the economic challenges faced across the country.

Gyang said the service would cover intra-local government travel across the 17 Local Government Areas of the state and other inter-state travels.

“From Monday 23 to Tuesday 24, all Metro Bus rides within the Jos-Bukuru Metropolis are free, with extended routes other than the usual ones,” Gyang said.

He noted that there would also be a return trip service on the inter-local Government and inter-state travellers is scheduled for January 4-5, 2025.”

He added, “Passengers from the North-East — Bauchi, Borno, and Adamawa would travel from the capital of their respective states to Jos. For the North West — Kano, Kaduna, Katsina and Jigawa, passengers would travel from their respective states capital to Jos,” among others.”
