President Bola Tinubu on Thursday, January 16, mourned the passing of a former Lagos State Head of Service and chieftain of All Progressives Congress, Akinsanya Ajose.
Tinubu expressed his deepest sympathy to the family of Ajose was said to have died in the early hours of Thursday, January 16, 2025, at the age of 78.
In a statement issued by Bayo Onanuga, the Tinubu’s aide on information and strategy, the President commiserated particularly with the people of Badagry.
Onanuga said the president described the late former head of service as an elder statesman and a unifying force in Lagos State.
“He was an astute administrator and dogged civil servant. When I appointed him the head of service, he became a rallying point. He had a considerable influence on the workers. He was pivotal in getting the civil service behind our policies and initiatives.
“Even after his tenure as head of service, we remained very close because of his leadership qualities and because he was an important partner in development,” Tinubu said.
Commiserating with the family and loved ones of the deceased, the president expressed his sympathy to the Lagos State governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu while praying to God for the repose of his soul.
