A landmark ruling is expected on October 31, as Justice Joyce Abdulmalik of the Federal High Court in Abuja prepares to deliver her judgement on a high-profile suit.
Daily Report Nigeria reports that the case in question seeks the removal of Chiedu Ebie, Chairman of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) over allegations of wrongful appointment.
The plaintiffs, representing communities from Bayelsa and Delta states, argued that Ebie’s appointment violated the NDDC Act, as he hails from a non-oil producing area.

In the latest proceedings, the plaintiffs’ lawyer urged the court to dismiss the preliminary objection filed by Tinubu and the Attorney General, Lateef Fagbemi, citing lack of merit.
Abdulmalik assured that her ruling on the preliminary objection and the main suit will be delivered on October 31, bringing this contentious chapter to a close.
