Barely 48 hours into the Ondo State governorship election, the Court of Appeal has removed the candidate of the Labour Party, Olusola Ebiseni.

Ebiseni was removed by the appellate court on Thursday, November 14.

Justice Adebukola Banjoko while reading out a unanimous judgment prepared by Justice Hamma Barka held that LP’s appeal against Ebiseni is allowed.

In a ruling, Justice Abba Mohammed stated that an appeal by the Labour Party against Ebiseni and two others had merit.

However, a Federal High Court in Abuja presided by Justice Emeka Nwite ordered that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) should recognize Ebiseni and Ezekiel Awude as the governorship and deputy governorship candidates for the party.

The judge in his ruling held that the second primary election conducted by the Labour party, which produced Nehemiah and Awude, was valid and must be upheld by INEC.
