This order was delivered in a ruling by a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja on Friday, October 11.

In his ruling, Justice Peter Liru Damagum is the recongnised national chairman of the party until the PDP conducts its national convention scheduled to take place in December 2025.

The court premised its ruling in line with the provisions of Articles 42, 47, and 67 of the PDP’s constitution.

The court’s order followed a suit instituted against the party’s NEC and BoT by Umar El-Gash Maina, the PDP chairman for Yobe State.

Naija in his suit had alleged that some stakeholders of the PDP were holding secret meetings to forcefully remove the acting national chairman with a former Deputy Governor of Kogi State, Phillip Salawu, being pushed as a replacement for Damagum.
