Ritemate Technologies, a licensed Data Protection Compliance Organisation (DPCO), under Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC), has hosted a two-day training in Data Privacy, Protection and Compliance in Lagos.

The training, on September 9 and 10, brought together participants from organisations, who gained practical insight into Nigeria Data Protection Act (NDPA) 2023, principles of lawful data processing, data subject rights, obligations of controllers and processors, breach management, third-party risks, and challenges posed by AI, IoT and Big Data.

Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Jide Ogunleye, emphasised the urgency for organisations to register with NDPC as either Data Controllers or Data Processors, and to begin preparing for their Compliance Audit Returns (CAR). He said data compliance was not only about avoiding penalties, but also about building trust, enhancing competitiveness, and safeguarding reputation in a digital-first economy.

“What we have achieved with this training is more than just compliance awareness,” Ogunleye said.

“We are equipping organisations with tools, policies and governance frameworks to thrive in today’s data-driven world. At Ritemate, our mission is to make compliance practical, sustainable and value-adding.”
