
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested 32 individuals suspected of involvement in internet fraud during a coordinated operation in Bauchi State.
The Commission made the disclosure in a statement shared via its official Facebook page on Monday, confirming that the suspects were apprehended by operatives from the Gombe Zonal Directorate.

“Operatives of the Gombe Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Friday, July 25, 2025, arrested 32 suspected internet fraudsters,”
the statement read.
According to the EFCC, the arrests were made in Sabon Kaura and Gwalameji—two densely populated areas within the Bauchi metropolis—following actionable intelligence linking the suspects to cybercrime operations.
“They were arrested in Sabon Kaura and Gwalameji areas of Bauchi, Bauchi State capital, following credible intelligence that linked them to fraudulent internet activities,”
the Commission stated.
During the raid, operatives recovered a wide array of electronic devices and other items believed to have been used in the execution of online scams.
Among the items seized were 15 iPhones, 9 Samsung phones, 3 Redmi devices, 1 Infinix phone, 2 iPads, and 8 laptops. Also recovered were 4 Neonx Auto motorbikes, a Peugeot 406 car, 2 PlayStation 4 consoles, a PlayStation 5, a Maxi E50KWH generator, and a pistol.
The EFCC added that all suspects will be charged to court once investigations are concluded.
The Kano State Police Command has arrested three suspects in connection with the theft and smuggling of a car stolen during a test drive at a dealership in the state.
According to a statement released by the command’s spokesperson, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, the suspects were apprehended through a coordinated tactical operation by operatives of the Special Intervention Squad (SIS), led by CSP Rabiu Gidado.
