Roaming elephants from one of the government’s reserved forests in Ijebu East Local Government Area of Ogun State have killed a farmer identified as Musa Kalamu  after it wandered into his farm on Monday, according to the villagers.

A viral video about the incident showed the lifeless body of the victim, who was from Itasin-Imobi.

The people could be heard in the video shouting “This is Kala. He was attacked by the elephants at Onitasin. You can see the marks of the attack all over his body with some part of his intestine outside. The government should, please, come to our aid, the problem with these elephants is too much in our community.”

They said the animal had been posing grave risk to the community and farmers’ crops in the last couple of years.
