Father, Son Arrested 'For operating Gun Factory' In A'Ibom | Daily Report Nigeria

  • Men of the Akwa Ibom police command have confirmed the arrest of two people, for reportedly manufacturing arms in the state.

The operatives of the Akwa Ibom police command have arrested two people, father and his son, David Nse Emmanuel, and Akpan Nse Emmanuel for illegal possession and manufacture of arms

In a statement released to the press on Monday at the Command Headquarters in Ikot Akpan Abia, Uyo, by the state commissioner,  CP Joseph O. Eribo, he noted that the factory was intercepted, and the were suspects arrested following credible intelligence.

He further added that two people were arrested, while others, who happen to be brothers of the suspects flee the scene.

Recovered items from the factory included seven newly fabricated single-barrel guns, five double-barrel guns, a special steel double-trigger pistol, a broken single-barrel gun, a trigger-handle walking stick knife, and multiple cut iron pipes used in making gun barrels.

Based on credible information received by the Command, operatives raided a gun-making factory where firearms of various types were fabricated and sold to criminals. During the operation, one David Nse Emmanuel was arrested, while his father, Akpan Nse Emmanuel, and his brothers, who jointly run the business, fled,” Eribo stated.
