George expressed his disapproval during an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today, warning that Fayose’s stance could lead to an investigation for anti-party activities.
George’s remarks came after Fayose praised Governor Oyebanji, claiming it would be difficult for the PDP to defeat him in the 2026 governorship election.
Fayose stated that despite his membership in the PDP, Oyebanji’s performance as governor was outstanding.
“Governor Oyebanji has done exceedingly well,” Fayose said, adding that it would “take a miracle” for the PDP to win in 2026.
“If it is true that Governor Fayose openly rejected the party and stated that he is going to work for the APC governor, he has defined his direction,” George declared.
He added that the PDP would begin investigations at Fayose’s ward level to determine if sanctions are warranted.
George further lamented the growing disunity within the PDP, urging party members to set aside personal interests.
“What is happening in the PDP now is not the best approach,” he said, calling for peace and unity in the party to prevent further internal strife.
He appealed to all warring factions within the PDP to stop airing their grievances publicly and focus on resolving internal disputes.
