Although no reason is yet to be attributed to this latest incident, the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) had earlier said the frequent grid collapses are due to a compounded problem involving stakeholders in the power sector.
Nafisat Ali, TCN’s Independent System Operator (ISO) executive director, made this revelation during a Senate committee hearing in April.
As of 9:00 AM, all distribution companies are reporting zero megawatts:
1. Abuja Disco: 0 Megawatt
2. Benin Disco: 0 MW
3. Eko Disco: 0 MW
4. Enugu Disco: 0 MW
5. Ibadan Disco: 0 MW
6. Ikeja Disco: 0 MW
7. Jos Disco: 0 MW
8. Kaduna Disco: 0 MW
9. Kano Disco: 0 MW
10. Port Harcourt Disco: 0 MW
11. Yola Disco: 0 MW
The total output currently stands at 0 MW, far below the expected 4,800 MW.
