Yet another ‘Bad Friday’ event has unfolded in The Democratic Republic of Congo, as a boat capsize in the region.

A wooden boat conveying hundreds of passengers has plunged into a river in Mbandaka, Congo, killing lots of people in the process.

This happened on Tuesday on the Congo River in northwestern Democratic Republic of Congo.

According to reports, the boat, with the name HB Kongolo experienced panic onboard shortly after it departed from the port of Matankumu en route to Bolomba territory.

Authorities confirmed that the fire outbreak started after a woman began cooking on board, which led to a fire outbreak and people who couldn’t swim began jumping into the water.

Sky News reported that about 100 survivors were rescued and taken to an improvised shelter at the local town hall, while those with burn injuries were transported to nearby hospitals.
