FLASH: Lagos Shuts Down Churches, Hotels Over Noise Pollution

  • Several churches, hotels and other private establishments have been shut down, over health concerns.

  • According to reports, they were shut down over series of continuous noise pollution.

Operatives of the Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency, LASEPA have shut down series of churches, hotels as well as other establishment.

These establishment were said to have violated the state’s environmental laws on noise pollution and other  environmental laws across Lagos.

Confirming the recent incident in a statement released on their official LASEPA X handle on Thursday, Nov. 28.

In a decisive move to combat noise pollution and other environmental violations, the Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA) sealed several establishments across the state.

The enforcement operation, which covered areas such as Mushin, Amuwo Odofin, and Okota Isolo, underscores LASEPA’s commitment to fostering a healthier and more sustainable environment for all Lagosians.

The sealed establishments include: Daily Bakery, Redeemed Christian Church of God, Gak Universal Allied Limited, Ideal Standard, Franjane Royal Suites, Golden Haven Resort & Suites, Festival Hotel Conference Centre & SPA, FS Service Centre, Moulin Rouge Ventures at Olivia Mall.”

Speaking on the closure, the General Manager of LASEPA, Dr. Babatunde Ajayi said the agency has zero tolerance for violations that threaten public health and community harmony.
