  • A group of youths in Osun state have beaten a monarch to pulp.

  • This act was done after he appointed an imam in the community mosque.

Youths of Hallelujah community have taken matters into their hands, as they assault their traditional leader.

According to reports, a group of angry youths beat up the newly installed monarch, Oba Jelili Olaiya, the Ajeniju of Hallelujah.

This happened on Friday, January 3, in the community located in Egbedore local government area of Osun State

It was gathered that the king had been installed few months ago without the support of the Ido-Osun community, as they kick against it.

And in recent news, the king appointed one Ahmad Tijjani as Chief Imam of the Hallelujah community, an act which sparked outrage among the people.

White gathering people for the Friday Jumaat prayer, the youths invaded the palace premises, scattering the area as they beat the king mercilessly, while querying his authority.

Confirming the incident, a police source said

The situation escalated, resulting in the vandalization of the palace and a physical attack on Ajenifuja of Hallelujah, who sustained serious injuries. He has since been taken to the State CID for further investigation and safety”, 

Also confirming the incident, the Special Adviser to Governor Ademola Adeleke on Security, Hon. Samuel Ojo said he will not comment on the incident pending the outcome of an investigation on the matter.
