A former Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Abdulrasheed Bawa, is mourning the demise of his beloved mother, Hajiya Hadiza Ahmed Bawa.
Hajiya Hadiza Ahmed Bawa died in Abuja on Wednesday night.
At the time of filing this report, the details surrounding her death remain unclear.
Bawa confirmed the news in a brief statement, expressing his grief and noting that his mother is survived by ten children.

Plans are currently underway to transport her remains to Kebbi State, where funeral rites are expected to take place later on Thursday.
Abdurrasheed Bawa, who made history as the first civilian to lead the EFCC, was nominated for the position on February 16, 2021, and received confirmation from the National Assembly.
However, he was suspended from office by President Bola Tinubu in July.
