Governor Siminalayi Gubara

Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has condemned the arson attacks on three local government secretariats in the state and vowed to take decisive action against those responsible.

Speaking during the swearing-in ceremony of four new commissioners at the Executive Chambers of the Government House in Port Harcourt, Fubara expressed his disappointment over the incidents and reminded the audience that he had earlier warned the newly elected council chairmen about potential threats of violence.

“Those responsible for these attacks will be held accountable. This will not be ignored. We will work with security agencies to ensure that the perpetrators face justice,” Fubara stated.

The governor also commended his supporters for maintaining calm during the confrontations and noted that the ongoing political crisis had overshadowed many of his administration’s achievements.

Fubara announced plans to dedicate a day later this month to highlight the successes of his government and urged the newly appointed commissioners to work closely with his administration to tackle the challenges facing the state, especially in the areas of oil production and crude oil theft.

“We will work together to address these challenges and ensure that our state prospers,” Fubara said.

The newly appointed commissioners include Otamiri John-Ngubo, Evans Bipi, Benibo Alabraba, and Israel Lebura-Ngbuelu.
