Ondo Assembly Moves to Impeach Deputy Governor

Gov Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State signed the Supplementary Budget of ₦96 billion into law after it was passed by the State House of Assembly.

Aiyedatiwa, who signed the supplementary budget on Tuesday, in Akure, said the budget would help his administration to meet the financial needs of the state.

He explained that the new budget signed into law would help the state government meet the ₦73,000 new minimum wage obligation for civil servants and new employees.

“The supplementary budget is necessary because of the time we are in and trends of what is happening in the state and country in general; the new minimum wage, subsidy removal to the recent recruitment of workers,” the Governor said.

Aiyedatiwa further commended the leadership and members of the House of Assembly for passing the bill and for the harmonious relations between the two arms in the state.

Earlier, Speaker of the Assembly, Olamide Oladiji, thanked the Governor for his developmental strides in the state.

He pledged the continuous support of the House to ensure the success of the administration.

“These giant strides have not only transformed the State in all facets but have clearly demonstrated your vision, capacity, intellectual ability, zeal, passion, direction and a clear understanding of the enormous job ahead.

“I want to on behalf of my colleagues assure you, Mr governor of our continuous support and cooperation to ensure the success of this administration.

“It is therefore hoped that the implementation of these Laws will impact meaningfully on the lives of the good people of the state,” he said.
