Governor Umo Bassey Eno of Akwa Ibom State has dissolved the State Executive Council, EXCO, effective January 10, 2025. This decision was disclosed in a statement by Prince Enobong Uwah, Secretary to the State Government.
According to the statement, all commissioners and special advisers are expected to hand over to their permanent secretaries or the most senior director.
The governor expressed his appreciation to the outgoing Executive Council members for their dedicated service to the state.

As stated in the release, “The governor expresses his sincere appreciation to the outgoing Executive Council members for their dedicated service to the state. He wishes them well in their future endeavours and thanks them for their contributions to the development of Akwa Ibom.”
Marketers, Oil Companies Partner To Build New Refinery In Akwa Ibom
In a bid to enhance refining capacity in Nigeria, petroleum marketers and three oil companies have partnered to establish a new refinery.
The Petroleum Products Retail Outlets Owners Association of Nigeria (PETROAN) signed a deal with Claridge Petroleum Company Limited and Oasis Petrochemical Products Limited for the facility, which will be located in Akwa Ibom State.
