Govt announces restriction of movement in South East state

Ahead of Saturday, September 28, Local Government Elections, the Anambra State government has announced the restriction of movement across the state.

The state’s commissioner for information, Law Mefor, in a statement, said that vehicular movement would be restricted between 8:00 am to 4:00 pm on Saturday.

According to Mefor, this strategy would help make sure the state conducts a smooth election.

He noted that restrictions would take place during the above-stated time on Saturday, September 28.

Calling on all residents to comply with the order and go about performing their civic duty, Mefor said essential workers are excluded from the restriction order.

His words, “Those exempted include individuals on election duties and essential services such as ANSIEC officials, electoral observers, accredited journalists, ambulances responding to medical emergencies, firefighters, etc.”
