  • A man has ended it all, as he hangs himself in Abia state.

  • The middle age man was said to have used his belt to hang himself on a fence.

A middle-aged man has committed suicide in Abia state.

According to reports, the man, identified as Andrew Chukwuka Nwosu, a 32-year-old man reportedly committed the act along Olokoro-Umudike Road in Umuahia South Local Government Area of Abia State in the morning on Thursday, April 17.

Eyewitnesses who confirmed the incident reported that the deceased, who was a native of Itaja Obuohia Olokoro in Umuahia South Local Government Area of Abia state reportedly parked his car by the roadside, and proceeded to hang himself on a nearby fence using his belt.

ABN TV reported that the eyewitness quickly notified authorities, after finding the body dangling.

The state police spokesperson, DSP Maureen Chinaka, who confirmed the incident to newsmen said;

Yes, the incident happened. One Andrew Chukwuka Nwosu from Itaja Obuohia Olokoro in Umuahia South LGA was found hanging on a fence along Olokoro-Umudike Road,” 

“There was no sign of violence on the body. Photographs were taken at the scene, and a preliminary investigation is ongoing,” DSP Chinaka added

Although the reason for the suicide is still unknown, the spokesperson further stated that the body had been moved and deposited at the at Madonna Mortuary for preservation and autopsy.
