The member representing Enugu North and South Federal Constituency at the Federal House of Representatives, Hon. Chimaobi Sam Atu, has reiterated his commitment to the welfare of the constituents.

Hon. Atu made this known on Sunday at his country home in Ugwuaji Awkunanaw when the ìgwè elect of Ogugu Ntu-egbenese Ancient Kingdom in Awgu Local Government Area of Enugu State, Chief Aloysius Chidozie Ogbonna Jnr, paid him a courtesy call.

He stated that his mission in politics is to bring the government closer to the citizens as the welfare of the people is the topmost priority.

Hon. Atu congratulated Chief Aloysius Chidozie Ogbonna Jnr on the emergence as the ìgwè elect of Ogugu Ntu-egbenese Ancient Kingdom after 24 years of leadership interregnum in the community.

Commenting on the unity of the whole Ntu-egbenese clan, Hon. Atu stated the importance of unity among communities who originated from Ntu-egbenese clan; saying that he too, is an Ntu-egbenese man.

According to him, “I am privileged to have you in my house on this August visit.”

“As a servant of the people, it is always my desire to bring the government closer, and that is what I have been doing since June 2023.”

“I am very committed to ensuring that the dividends of democracy get to my entire constituency that is devoid of sentiment.”

“Having the elect of Ogugu Ancient kingdom, who is by the virtue of seniority, the incoming leader of the entire Ntu-egbenese clan in my place, is an honor.”

“Ogugu is a renowned community with significant history especially to those from Awkunanaw and other parts of Nkanu land.”

“As an Awkunanaw man, I am also an Ntu-egbenese son meaning that we are one.”

“It is time for us to unite and form a team of development experts that will engender development to our various communities.”

“God willing, after your coronation, you will unite the entire Ntu-egbenese for the good of society and also our people.”

In his remarks, Chief Aloysius Chidozie Ogbonna Jnr stated that the visit is one of his moves to bring political leaders from Ntu-egbenese clan together for the good of all.

He stated that since there was a leadership crisis in the Ogugu community, it has been difficult to unite the whole Ntu-egbenese clan because the first son’s house is not in order.

He posited that he has been very impressed with the achievements of Hon. Chimaobi Sam Atu within the few months he assumed office, which he also said, is a major trait that people from Ntu-egbenese clan are renowned for.

Chief Ogbonna also assured Hon. Atu that he will try his best to unite the entire Ntu-egbenese clan for the social and political development of their people.

He also commended Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah for helping the community to solve their 24-year-old leadership problem, praying for God’s continuous guidance on the people.
