  • The father of popular Nigerian musician, David Adeleke, Deji Adeleke has revealed the percentage of electricity he generated for Nigeria.

  • Speaking during a church program, the billionaire noted that his company generated about 15% of electricity in Nigeria.

Billionaire bussinesman and father of award-winning musician, Davido, Deji Adeleke has revealed his company generates about 15% of Nigeria’s electricity.

While making this known during the Seventh-Day Adventist Church’s General Conference Annual Council 2024, held on 15 October, Deji revealed that the power plant is expected to become fully functional from January 2025.

Deji Adeleke also added that Chinese engineering firms have been employed in the construction of the plant, which, upon completion, will be the largest thermal power plant in Nigeria, with a capacity of 1,250 megawatts.

In one of the videos of the conference shared by Davido on his X account on Wednesday, Deji Adeleke said partly,

I’m in the electricity business, I own power plants. I generate about 15 per cent of Nigeria’s electricity. I’ve Chinese engineering companies that work for me. I am building the biggest thermal power plant in Nigeria to be launched in January 2025. It’s a 1250MW power plant.”

Reacting to this, the governor of Osun state, Ademola Adeleke, who is a brother to Deji also took to his X handle and tweeted;

Proud of my big bro always. My Chairman. Our parents always taught us to take everything to God in all that we do. I hope this testimony inspires others not to give up when faced with those trying to stand between them and their goals. This is why I dance to praise my God.”
