Actor and content creator Ijoba Lande has raised the alarm over an AI-generated video allegedly depicting him in a compromising situation with the wife of a senator.

In a video shared on Instagram, Lande disclosed that he is being blackmailed with a demand of N5 million to stop the release of the fabricated clip.

He denied the allegations, stressing that the video is fake and calling for urgent regulation of artificial intelligence in Nigeria to prevent similar cases of digital blackmail.

Lande lamented that the video had been circulated among his contacts and benefactors, casting doubts on his character and threatening his career.

He said, “I’m calling on the Nigerian government to act fast on the use of AI to create videos. If not regulated, it will cause a lot of damage in this country.

“Someone sent me a video and threatened me. In the video, I was naked and in bed with a married woman.

“I’m not the one in that video, but the person is threatening me and demanding ₦5 million. If you are the one behind it, just delete it. I am not the person in it.

“What do you gain from ruining people’s lives? The video I complained about a few days ago is already causing me problems.

“They are now sending the video to my benefactors, and some of them don’t seem to believe it isn’t me. I don’t even understand how the video was made.

“I found out that the woman in the video is married to a senator, and several people have been sending it to me.

“Please, if you receive the video, delete it immediately and don’t forward it to me. The person in the video isn’t me. I’m not a kid, I would know if I was intimate with someone. And to the person who created that video, I hand you over to God.”

In March, his marriage collapsed after he accused his wife, Darasimi, of infidelity with over 20 men in the entertainment industry, including actor Baba Tee.

However, Baba Tee initially denied the allegations but later admitted to a brief encounter with Darasimi during a “Truth or Dare” game.

Darasimi later apologised for her actions, describing them as a grave mistake.

Lande is urging people not to believe the video, emphasising that it’s AI-generated and not real.

He handed the person behind the video over to God, seeking divine intervention.
