In Kano, 5,000 delegates choose Kwankwaso’s former commissioner to lead the PDP.

Alhaji Ado Kibiya, a former Commissioner of Agriculture during the Rabiu Kwankwaso administration (1999-2003), has been elected as the new Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Kano State.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

His election came after an overnight congress that saw participation from over 5,000 delegates.

Kibiya emerged victorious over two other candidates, Nura Nuhu and Sani Aliyu Muhammad.

Kibiya secured a landslide victory, garnering 3,964 votes to defeat Nuhu, who scored 244 votes.

The results of the election were announced on Sunday, by Halilu Abubakar Mazagani, Chairman of the election committee, from the National headquarters of the PDP.

Shortly after the announcement of the results, Barrister Abdul Fatah Muhammad, administered the oath of office to the 39 newly-elected party officials, including Kibiya.

In his acceptance speech, he expressed confidence in the party’s ability to surprise critics by achieving electoral success in future elections.

He reassured Kano residents that the PDP remains committed to addressing their needs and promised to restore the party to its former prominence.
