Team Itsekiri was on Sunday crowned winners of the Delta Peace and Unity following a thrilling final against Ndokwa at the Baptist High School Field, Orerokpe town, Okpe Local Government Area of the state.
The grand finale of the competition organized by President of the Centre For Peace and Environmental Justice (CEPEJ), Chief Sheriff Mulade attracted sports enthusiasts like the Orodje of Okpe Kingdom, and former Nigerian internationals.
The day’s activities began with a third-place final between Urhobo and Isoko nations, setting the pace for the ultimate final.

Itsekiri posted a dominant display with a 3-1 over their counterparts from the Delta North area to clinch the much coveted crown.
Addressing newsmen at the end of the final whistle, Mulade said the inaugural edition of the “Delta Peace and Unity Cup is designed to foster unity among the diverse ethnic groups in Delta State.
The grand finale of the Delta Peace and Unity Cup 2024 culminated with a post-match reception at the Africa For Peace Games Village and Event Centre in Ugolo, near Osubi.
